How to Start a Skill Assessment in the Admin App

If you have not set up a Skill Track for your classes yet, you can view instructions for that in this support document. Then, complete the steps below.

Start a New Skill Assessment

Begin by starting a new Skill Assessment:

  1. Navigate to the class you would like to complete a skill assessment for.
  2. Click the Skill Tracking tab.
  3. Press the green + button in the Skill Assessments section.
    1. Name the Skill Assessment-This section will default to the date of the assessment.
    2. Select which occurrence you want to complete the skill assessment for under the Class Schedule section.
    3. Choose the athletes you want to complete the skill assessment.
    4. Click the blue Start button.

Skill Assessment Features

Once the Skill Assessment has started, it will take you to the Skill Assessment page where you will see the following sections:

  • Class Averages (Read Only)- Class averages will show you how your entire class is scoring on. average for each of the skill trees. Click through each skill tree to view the individual skill average to the right. This section will update as you complete a skill assessment for each athlete.
  • Athlete Assessments- In this section, you will see your list of athletes that are being assessed on the left hand side. 
    • Click each athlete’s name to begin their skill assessment.
    • On the right, you will see each skill within each skill tree that you will be assessing for each athlete.
    • Ratings will be given for each individual skill by clicking the amount of stars that reflects how that athlete performed that skill (1 out of 5 stars, 2 out of 3 stars, etc..).
      • In addition to rating the athlete for each skill, you can also add notes and photos/videos by clicking on the message icon and photo icon beneath each skill respectively. Comments and scores are automatically saved for each athlete as you complete them.
    • Once you have completed the assessment for each skill tree, you will be able to see the average as it updates.
    • To end the entire skill assessment, hover over the settings cog at the top and click complete. This will end the assessment for all athletes.

All skill tracks can be viewed by parents in the parent app and by admin on the Skill Tracking tab for each class or on User Page for each individual athlete. Visit the staff app training document to learn how to start a skill assessment from the staff app.
