Marketing Segments

Build a filtered subset of your users, created based on specific criteria, allowing you to send targeted email campaigns to those who share similar characteristics. Disabled users will never be in a marketing segment. Full Out will show two metrics for segments, how many total users are in the segment and how many are subscribed. To follow marketing regulations and compliance, Full Out will never send an email to someone who opted out of receiving marketing emails.


Full Out has some default segments set up for your convenience:

  • All Users: any user in the platform with an email address
  • All Parents: any parent in the platform with an email address
  • All Staff: any staff member in the platform with an email address

Create a New Segment

  1. Go to Settings > Communications > Marketing Segments and click the green + button
  2. Name the segment and fill out the description
    1. Segment name: this is for internal use only, people in these segments will never see this.
    2. Description: optional description if you want to use it!
  3. !! Criteria Logic !!
    1. All of the following must be true: Only users that meet ALL of the filter criteria will show up in this segment.
    2. Any of the following can be true: Users that meet at least one of the criteria will show up in this segment, not all of the statements have to be true.
  4. Use the filters to create your custom criteria
    1. You can only use one of each type of filter. For example, you can't have Event Enrollment listed as two filters using both No Enrollment History and Future. We recommend setting up two segments; and you can send to multiple segments in one email campaign!
  5. Save!

You can preview the parents or athletes that meet the criteria in a segment. When viewing a parent segment, you can download the CSV if you would like to upload the email addresses an names into your own marketing platform.
